How Artificial Intelligence Can Help People with OCD

I am developing an AI assistant for people who suffer from OCD. Lets go over some of the ways that this kind of assistant can be helpful.

1) Find information such as Doctor referrals, local Hospitals, OCD specialists

2) Answer specific questions about OCD & the users experiences with this disorder

3) Order books on OCD & other helpful products

4) Support, Someone to confide in

Developing Artificial Intelligence for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Hello everyone, welcome to my first blog! I am a man of many innovative and creative ideas, many of which I will share with you all throughout the duration of this blog. I'm sort of a rookie at this blog writing thing and not totally sure on how I should begin, but I suppose telling you all about myself will be a good start.

My name is Brian Brignardello, I'm a 37 year old resident of Long Beach, California, happily married to my beautiful wife Celicia who I love very much. I have 2 adorable poodles named Cookie and Coco (my buddies). My hobbies and interests are developing Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Video Games, Transhumanism, Simulation Theory, The Singularity, Liberal Politics, History, Metal Detecting for treasure and ancient relics, and Mixed Martial Arts (I've been a huge UFC fan since I was a kid).

I am currently a 4th year student at Kaplan University, which soon will be Purdue New U due to Purdue buying Kaplan in 2017. I earned my Associate degree from Kaplan in 2015, however my Bachelors degree that I receive this year will be from Purdue New U which I am not at all complaining about. I have always admired Purdue and certainly look forward to being a student at one of the worlds most respected universities. I'm also excited about the positive implications this has for my education and employment future. Kaplan has been a great college to me and I have learned many valuable skills, but I look forward to the even more rigorous education that students can expect from Purdue. I truly love to learn because I believe knowledge is as precious as gold, and the more challenging the curriculum the more fruitful my learning experience will be.

I've always been fascintated by computers, robots & artificial intelligence, and the ability human beings have to make the world a better place with technology. This is why I enrolled in Kaplan university in 2013, going on to receive my Associate degree in the Applied Sciences of Information Technology. I want to develop artificial intelligence as well as mobile games and applications for a living, so I decided to continue studying Information Technology with a focus in Multiplatform Software Development.

I am currently working on several different exciting projects. I want to tell you a little about one of the main projects I am working on, the development of an Artificial Intelligence chat log Assistant for people who suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. OCD is a dibilitating mental disorder that is often extremely difficult to cope with, a disease with no cure that complicates peoples everyday lives and makes common tasks that used to be easy very hard to accomplish. So often people who suffer from OCD will not talk to someone about what they are going through, refusing to share the struggle they are experiencing because they are too embarassed, scared, or ashamed. I want to create an AI that can answer OCD sufferers questions about the disorder, offer them advice, as well as some level of comfort in having an assistant available to help them 24 hours a day who will listen to them with no questions asked. OCD is a disorder that causes lonliness, and that is the underlying factor in my decision to initiate this project.

After I complete the development of the OCD Chat log Assistant, I will integrate the AI into a mobile app for Android & Iphone. This will be the first generation version which I will subsequently use as an example/prototype for bringing in seed capital through crowdfunding. The capital raised will be used to develop and release the complete advanced version.
